Perceived Effects Of Withholding Teachers’ Annual Salary Increment On Their Job Morale In Public Secondary Schools In Arusha Region, Tanzania

This study examined the perceived effects of withholding teachers’ annual salary increment on their job morale in public secondary schools Arusha region, Tanzania. was guided by Expectancy Theory Vroom (1964). The adopted convergent research design under mixed methods approach. target population 5057 with sample size 513 respondents. Random and non-random sampling techniques were used to teachers, HOSs, WEOs, SAMs TSCs officers, DEOs, DEDs. Content face validity for quantitative data collection instruments ensured three experts MWECAU. Reliability questionnaire tested using Cronbach’s Alpha Technique coefficient 0.88, 0.85, 0.9 obtained WEOs questionnaires respectively reliability qualitative done triangulation. Descriptive inferential statistics analyze data. Pearson correlation test hypothesis. Thematic analysis direct quotations present found that had several including lowered teaching. concluded that, there a significant relationship 0.557 between mean scores recommends local government authority should facilitate resuming convincing central government. MoEST resume so as revive teaching region.
